Periodically we have a dog available for rehome. This can run the gammit from a puppy not very old and not totally potty trained to an adult that is mid range age to old age. There is no telling the situation that the dog may or may not be in and what you the recipient may need or expect. If you are interested in an adult or older dog realize that it is not like getting a ready made dog it is something that will be a work in progress. Dogs that are rehomed are used to their current lifestyles what ever that may be. To help the dog get used to your needs it may be work. The dog may regress in toilet training, may have special food they eat, they may be used to more activity or less. Many people think and older dog is "free" this is not the case. All dogs come with rehome cost and your need to transport or pick up. All our dogs are important and as such there is NO rescue only a dog in need of a home change for a HUGE variety of reasons. Who is the above Dog? Without giving too many specifics. While all rehomes tug at Bajorons heart this one was so difficult to handler. The dog had some foibles but upon bringing him home to our place it was evident that he did not have any issues. It seemed that there was something wrong with "the fit" and that he no longer fit their lifestyle. Enter the best possible home ever and he was ground transported across country to the best couple and is living his best life in a golf community and fulfilling their need for the most well behaved dog ever. While he is a full on success story he is not the only one. We do sometimes misread a potential owner but quickly regroup and "fix" our error. What we mean by this is we try very hard to work with all our friends, our colleagues and get the dogs to someone who is that special and perfect fit. Yes there is an owner for every dog that we birth. Our dogs are loving and for the most part do not come with baggage that prevents them from responding to the love they get with love in return 100 fold. We would never rehome a dog that had bite or defense issues and we have fortunately never had to do this. OUR rehomes are generally families in a tough postion or sudden death, illness or some extenuating circumstances that see the dog needing to leave the situation and live a more comfortable life with someone else who is ready for them.
